There was no monkey business from Vale of York Athletic Community at today’s Brass Monkey Half Marathon with several athletes achieving impressive times on a bitterly cold morning in York.
Leading the charge of the Vale brigade back to the racecourse finish was Harry Bromley, who clocked a time of 1:18:47, which was remarkable considering he was the youngest competitor in the field of 1,800. Bromley’s sub-1:20 finish at age 18 underscores its commitment to foster young talent and its positive impacting on the local road-running community.
Joining Bromley in delivering strong performances were veterans Ian Martin (1:21:27 2nd M55), Paul Bennett (1:35:11), Neil Ryan (1:36:20), and Steve Middup (1:37:25 5th M65).
These results highlight the club’s consistent training approach and the breadth of abilities within its ranks.
Vale of York is definitely not monkeying around.
