VOYAC competitors in good form at Humber open meets

Montage of Humber Series Athletics 2026 Vale of York

Six competitors across two Humber open meets have produced some fantastic results.

Three under-12s competed in the triathlons (sprint, jump, throw) at Meet 2. Reuben set a personal best (PB) in the 75m followed by a strong PB in the howler, throwing over 20m. Molly also ran a PB in a strong 75m to finish 2nd in her heat, and also threw a PB in the howler. Lily jumped to 3rd overall in the medals tables with the help of a strong howler throw and came home with a well-earned medal.

Not to be outdone by the u12s, Masters athlete and coach, Heidi Bradley, had some strong results in the throws with a season’s best (SB) and 1st place in the hammer, followed by a SB in the shot put.

It was windy for Meet 3 at Grimsby, but that didn’t stop Vale of York athletes producing some good results. Everly competed in the U12 girls long jump and 75m, finishing 2nd in the long jump and 1st in her 75m heat against some very fast competition. Lily jumped her way to a PB and 1st place in the high jump, and also won the shot put with mum, and emerging senior athlete, Lisa scoring a PB in the senior javelin.

The next Humber open meet is on 25th July at Costello, for anyone who’d like to give it a try.
