With just a week to go, Clare Bromley’s final month of training for the AJ Bell Great North Run hasn’t gone entirely to plan. Shin splints meant swapping her last tapering runs for the gym, resting with ice packs, stretching and plenty of ibuprofen gel to give her legs the best chance of getting her around on Sunday.
Clare is running for the ME Association, and for her daughter Isobel, who she says amazes her every single day with her strength, courage and determination. Her son Harry is also taking on the Great North Run this weekend.
“I’m feeling very nervous and very excited for Sunday, but fingers crossed I can get around!”
If you would like to sponsor Clare and support the ME Association, every donation, no matter how big or small, is hugely appreciated.
